Constant watt heating cable - PCHT
(High Temperature)

CONSTITUTING
PCHT heating cables are parallel resistance type
(to be cut to length on the job site).
The output remains constant regardless of heat transfer
or surrounding temperature.
They include two bus wires individually insulated with
a very high temperature silicone rubber (range 260°C).
On those bus wires, the heating wire, made of resistive
alloy is spiralled.
It is energized alternately on each of the bus wires,
every one meter about, so creating independent heating zones.
The insulating over sheath is made with a very high temperature
silicone rubber (range 260°C).
A metallic braid can be proposed so assuming a mechanical
protection and allowing to perfectly earth the installation.
WORKING PRINCIPLE

APPLICATIONS
Constant watt PCHT heating cables are usually designed
for the following applications
· High temperature maintenance (steam or condensates
pipes)
· Temperature maintenance for pipes carrying heavy
fuel oil
· Temperature maintenance in pipes, tanks, up to
150°C
· Prevention against condensation
MAINS ADVANTAGES
This technology involves the following advantages :
· No thermal ageing of heating element
· No inrush current under start up conditions
· Built in cold lead
· Can be cut to length on job site
· Derivations and tee connections can be made using
one single power supply (energy is available on the whole length of
the cable).
· Very good flexibility
· Standard voltages : 230 or 400 volts (other voltages
upon request)
· Withstand steam cleaning
· Temperature range –60°C to 260°C
MAIN CHARACTERISTICS
